Thoracic Vertebrae T6
The Dermatomes are an area of the skin associated with the root nerves of the spine. Pain, tingling, numbness, or lack of sensation can indicate spinal damage or a compression of the nerve root in the spine. Stenosis is a narrowing of the vertebral foramina causing a compression or pinching of the nerve root. This is caused by Subluxation, Disk Damage or other damage or disease to the vertebrae. A compressed spinal nerve can also cause radiant pain, tingling, numbness and lack of sensation in other areas of the body including the legs, arms, and fingers. The dermatomes divide the body into regions that are helpful in diagnosing which area of the spine may have damage. Doctors are able to pinpoint the specific area of trouble and then implement treatment accordingly.
